About the Szeged Geometry Day series

The Szeged Geometric Day is a few yearly held one-day long conference of the Geometry Department.

This series of events was initiated in 2014 by Árpád Kurusa, who organized the first two occasions.

The main pupose of this event is to create an opportunity for mainly Hungarian mathematicians working in various areas of geometry, where they can present their works and results in conference conditions to the interested parties, to each other and to postgraduate students.

The venue is the Bolyai Institute of the University of Szeged, where geometers are working from over a hundred years such as Lipót Klug, Béla Kerékjártó and Gyula Szőkefalvi-Nagy just to mention some.

The first event of this series was on May 22., 2014.

The second event of this series was on October 6., 2017.

The series would have been held for the third time on October 9, 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID epidemic.

The third event of this series was on October 1., 2021.
