| Abstract. Elementary properties of quadratic differentials and the global structure of their trajectories will be considered. As examples we will draw "pictures" of trajectories for quadratic differentials related with particular extremal (decomposition) problems. In the end we will see how extremal decomposition problems related with other extremal problems in geometric function theory. |
