| Abstract. Limit theorems with random sample size play an important role in many areas of applied science. One of the first striking results has been achieved by Gnedenko and Fahim in their 1969 paper titled "On a transfer theorem". Since then many variants and generalizations of what is now frequently called Gnedenko's transfer theorem" appeared in the mathematical literature. Although there is an intrinsic principle behind all these transfer type results, a new proof needed to be given in every new situation. In this talk we will capture this principle and prove a widely applicable version of the transfer theorem. |
