| Abstract. We discuss non-negativity and non-positivity of coefficients for product differences of formal power series with general non-negative coefficients dependent on an additional parameter included as an argument of gamma function. In particular, our results imply log-convexity or log-concavity for the formal power series. Also we demonstrate how these theorems and their corollaries lead to various new inequalities for the Kummer, Gauss and generalized hypergeometric functions and their ratios and logarithmic derivatives. |
