Abstract. In this talk, we are going to prove asymptotic results for Christoffel functions on the complex plane. In the first part of the talk, we will review the method of polynomial inverse images and illustrate it with a few examples, and in the second part, we employ this method to obtain asymptotic results for Christoffel functions with respect to absolutely continuous measures supported on Jordan curves. In some cases, asymptotic results are easy to prove for measures on the unit circle, but not to measures on Jordan curves. First, we extend the results from the unit circle to level lines of polynomials, and then to Jordan curves.
