Centering Koebe polyhedra

Abstract of the lecture:
Domokos et al. raised the question of the existence of convex polyhedra of homogeneous density in every combinatorial class, whose every face, edge and vertex contains an equilibrium point with respect to the center of mass of the polyhedron. Possible candidates for such polyhedra are Koebe polyhedra; that is, polyhedra midscribed to a given sphere, which satisfy the above property with respect to the center of the sphere. A consequence of the Koebe-Andreev-Thurston Theorem is that Koebe polyhedra exist in every combinatorial class, and they are unique up to Mobius transformations. Thus, the problem arises that it is true or not that for every Koebe polyhedron there is a Mobius transformation that maps its center of mass to the center of the sphere. In this talk we show that this statement holds for almost all notions of center appearing in the literature, but we do not know the answer about the center of mass. The proof is based on the investigation of the topological properties of the integral curves of suitable hyperbolic vector fields.
