Success Stories 2024
Here are some success stories of our former Ph.D. students: Sadegh Marzban from 2023, Tamás Tekeli and Bornali Das from 2024.

Sadegh Marzban, a former PhD student from Iran, successfully completed his degree in 2023 under the supervision of G. Röst. He is now a postdoctoral research fellow at the Integrated Mathematical Oncology Department, Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida. As a world-leading center in mathematical oncology, Sadegh is currently studying the dynamics of cell-cell interactions that influence tumor evolution.

Tamás Tekeli, our PhD graduate from 2024 under the supervision of G. Röst, has secured a postdoctoral research fellow position with Prof Andrea Pugliese at the University of Trento, Italy. His work will be conducted within the framework of the “MUR PRIN 2020 - Epidemic models in structured populations, and for vector-borne infections” project.

Bornali Das, an accomplished SH student from India, earned her PhD in 2024 with G. Röst as her supervisor. She has been appointed as a postdoctoral research fellow with Prof Nils Christian Stenseth at the University of Oslo, Norway, working on the ERC Synergy-Plague project “Reconstructing the environmental, biological, and societal drivers of plague outbreaks in Eurasia between 1300 and 1900 CE”.
