| Abstract. For Banach spaces X,Y , in the space of bounded linear operators L(X,Y), in this talk we examine the relation between a T ∈L(X,Y) being a smooth point verses T* ∈L(Y*,X*) being a smooth point. We give some necessary and some sufficient conditions for the validity of such a statement for spaces of operators. The talk is based on our article in Linear Algebra Appl, 517(2017). |
