Numerical bifurcation study of an SIRWS system with different partitions
of immunity period

Absztrakt: Variants of the classical susceptible-infectious-recovered (SIR) system have been used to study the transmission dynamics of infectious diseases. One of such variants is the SIRWS system which studies the transmission dynamics for diseases for which immunity is not lifelong. In most studies involving the SIRWS system, the time spent in the recovered (R) compartment is the same as the time spent in the waning (W) compartment. We propose an SIRWS system with different partitions of the immunity period and study the effect of this partitioning on the dynamics of the system. We perform a numerical bifurcation study of our system using a life expectancy of 80 years and with different levels of immune system boosting.
