To travel in Budapest by subway or bus or tram, you will need a pre-purchased ticket which can be bought in ticket booths near the entrance of each subway station. At the airport and larger subway stations there are ticket machines which display instructions in English. They may require exact change, though. A separate single ticket is required for each leg of the trip. If you travel by subway and change lines, it is cheaper to buy a transfer ticket rather than use two single tickets.
by Airpoty Minibus: The Budapest Airport Minibus operation is similar to that of a taxi service i.e. door-to-door, with the difference that on the way to the airport the 8-11-seater minibuses pick up passengers living in one part of the city while shuttles from the airport to the city also take passengers living in roughly the same area. For this reason it is necessary to reckon on a longer transfer time than a taxi. Within Budapest the Minibus charge is for one way: HUF 2300 (approx. 7 EUR), return: HUF 3900 (approx. 11 EUR) and one way with Budapest Card: HUF 1950 (approx. 6 EUR).
