| Absztrakt: | This paper is a continuation of the author's previous work in
[Oper. Theory, Adv. Appl. 17, 187-200 (1986; Zbl 0586.47008)].
Emphasis is given to contractions T which are weakly similar
to unitary operators and whose characteristic functions are not
unitaries almost everywhere on the unit circle. Relations between
algebras attached to T are studied and the reflexivity of such
contractions is proved under an assumption expressed in terms
of the characteristic function. These investigations have been
further extended in the author's subsequent papers [Acta Math.
Hungar. 50, 127-145 (1987; Zbl 0632.47006)] and [Bull. London
Math. Soc. 19, 161- 166 (1987; Zbl 0594.47007)].}
