| Absztrakt: | We study the boundedness and ultimate boundedness of solutions
of nonautonomous differential equations by Lyapunov's direct
method when the derivative of the Lyapunov function along the
solutions is only semidefinite. The results generalize {\it V.
M. Matrosov's} theorems [Prikl. Mat. Mekh. 26, 885-895 (1962;
Zbl 0123.054)] on the asymptotic stability to the boundedness
of solutions. An application is given to the boundedness of the
motions of a holonomic scleronomic mechanical system of n degrees
of freedom being under the action of potential, dissipative and
gyroscopic forces.}
